Halis Kartal

Halis Kartal is a security and defense analyst. He served as an instructor, project officer, and staff officer in the training, procurement, and operations units of the Turkish Armed Forces. He also served in the field of international security and cooperation at NATO. After nearly 25 years of service, he retired with the rank of Staff Colonel. He holds a Master's Degree in National and International Security Strategies and a Ph.D. in International Relations. He has vast experience writing about defense and security issues. His areas of professional interest include strategy, international security, air, and space doctrine, air and missile defense, technology management, defense planning, and force development.
